Our Story
Sarah & Matthew both grew up in Aspen and first worked together professionally at a leading deep tech venture firm. STM Ventures (Steal The Moon Ventures) was born out of countless lunchtime brainstorms, late nights, and long weekends. We are passionate about supporting the places we call home and the people we call neighbors.
STM Holdings acquires & operates local businesses in Aspen & the Roaring Fork Valley that are essential to what makes it such a special place. We intend to be the antidote to all of the change that is happening in our town by keeping Aspen locally owned & operated.
STM Ventures invests in companies and founders that are aligned with our passions & backgrounds.

Sarah grew up in Aspen, CO and attended the University of Southern California where she received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering on a full-tuition merit scholarship. She then worked at Starburst, an aerospace and defense focused venture fund where ran all deal flow internationally (6 offices) and then managed the accelerator. While at Starburst, she was deeply involved in Women in VC and the Synergist Network (women’s investor networks) in hopes of bolstering women’s involvement in investment-focused careers. Beyond this, Sarah has a deep interest in functional medicine and supportive therapies after a long battle with Lyme disease. You can find her lapping Chair 3 at lunch and eating a grass-fed steak. Matthew grew up in Aspen, CO. He attended Dartmouth College, where he majored in Engineering & Studio Arts and minored in Human-Centered Design. He is deeply passionate about music, wellness, being outdoors, and investing in mission-based companies that he’s proud to be a part of.
Matthew began his career as a consultant to global aerospace firms on open innovation at Starburst. He then gained operational experience by launching the LA & Napa markets for Choco, a German restaurant technology company that help connect restaurants to all of their suppliers. He most recently worked as a Sr. Strategy Manager at AR startup Magic Leap, where he managed capital raises and strategic investments. He’s also an advisor for a $100M deep tech venture fund, called Generational Partners.

Victor grew up in Aspen, CO and attended the University of Southern California where he received a Bachelor’s in Law, Philosophy, and Politics and a Minor in Digital Entrepreneurship. Upon graduating, Victor worked at CoinCircle, a crypto startup where he did business development, and Privicy, where he led business development and product. After watching several startups fail he quickly realized how important sales and cashflow were. Now, Victor helps build and grow education focused, cash-flowing businesses. Victor also has a deep love for the outdoors, including golfing, surfing, and playing tennis as often as he can.
